Not many people know the legends behind the “Quercia del tedesco” (German man’s oak) and the “Edicola di San Floriano” (Saint Florian aedicule).

They are in Cingoli, in the province of Macerata, in a lovely small lavender grove called Amor di Lavanda.

You will see their centuries-old oak (approximately 450 years) with its majestic fronds, featured in stories about German soldiers and Italian partigiani. Walking towards the ruins of an aedicule, whose existence is attested by historical notes dating back to 1100., you will hear the story of Saint Florian, a young Roman soldier who dared to win over the Lord of Darkness.

At the end, you will taste local delicacies while becoming lost in the romantic atmosphere of scented lavender and sunset.
